Dr. Sumit Pruthi appointed Chief of Pediatric Radiology and Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Nashville, TN!

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Sumit Pruthi, Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, in his new appointment as Chief of Pediatric Radiology and Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Nashville, TN.!

Dr. Pruthi rises to this position having served as Chief of Pediatric Neuroradiology and Director of the Pediatric Radiology Fellowship Training Program at Monroe Children’s. He also established the VUMC 3D Printing Center at Vanderbilt. Dr. Pruthi will continue as Pediatric Neuroradiology Section Chief while taking on his new leadership role.

Sumit earned his medical degree from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India. After completing his radiology residency at LTM General Hospital in Sion, India, he moved to the USA where he successfully completed fellowships in both neuroradiology at the University of Washington Medical Center and pediatric radiology at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. Dr. Pruthi joined Vanderbilt in 2010.

Dr. Pruthi is also active in other professional radiology societies. He serves as Specialty Chair for the ACR’s Pediatric Appropriateness Criteria Panel and is Chair of the Pediatric Imaging Section for the Abstract Review Committee for ARRS. Sumit also chairs and is Course Director for ACR’s Education Center’s Pediatric Radiology Course, is a member of ACR’s Patient- & Family-Centered Care (PFCC) Arts and Wellness Committee and serves on SPR’s Neuroradiology and Child Abuse Committees.
