Letter From the President

February 2026

Dear Colleagues,

It is a great honor to serve as the President of American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology  I am deeply grateful and I begin this role with a strong sense of responsibility and optimism for what lies ahead.

Our Society is a remarkable community—diverse, international, and united by a shared commitment to advancing our field through science, education, and collaboration. It reflects years of thoughtful leadership and dedicated service, and I would like to thank our past presidents, Board members, and volunteers whose work has positioned the Society so well for the future. I acknowledge our first past president Bill O'Brien, for his incredible organizational skills and delighted to have him chair the N&G committee this year.

We are at a moment of rapid change. Scientific innovation is accelerating, collaboration increasingly crosses borders and disciplines, and the demands on our professional lives continue to grow. In this environment, our Society plays a vital role—not only as a forum for scholarship, but as a professional home, a source of mentorship, and a place where ideas and people connect.

As President, my priorities are shaped by three guiding commitments.

First, I am deeply committed to supporting our members across all career stages. From trainees and early-career colleagues to senior members who continue to shape the field, our Society must offer meaningful opportunities for growth, leadership, and engagement. Investing in people is not optional—it is how our field advances.

Second, we will continue to strengthen our scientific and educational mission. Rigor, curiosity, and innovation must remain central to everything we do. By supporting high-quality scholarship and relevant, forward-looking educational initiatives, we can ensure that our Society remains both credible and influential in Pediatric Neuroradiology.

Equally important is strengthening our global and inclusive community. Our international membership is one of our greatest assets. I am committed to fostering collaboration across regions, practice settings, and perspectives, and to ensuring that our Society is welcoming, transparent, and responsive to all who are part of it.

I see the presidency first and foremost as a role of service. I value listening, collaboration, and thoughtful decision-making, and I look forward to working closely with the Board, committees, and membership. The most durable progress is built together.

I encourage you to stay engaged with the Society, to share your ideas, and to consider becoming involved in its work. Your perspectives and participation shape who we are and where we are going.

With Warm Regards,

Aylin Tekes-Brady, MD
