2019 ASPNR RESEARCH GRANT AWARD
2019 ASPNR RESEARCH AWARD
This year’s American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR) Research Grant was awarded to Dr. Rupa Radhakrishnan for her application titled “Effect of Pre-eclamptic Milieu on Neonatal Brain Perfusion, Growth and Function“. Her grant application was selected after review of multiple applications by the ASNPR Research Committee. The grant award was for $27,500.
In this study, the authors propose to study brain perfusion and function in neonates born preterm to mothers with pre-eclampsia and to identify differences compared to preterm infants without maternal pre-eclampsia, with the long-term goal of understanding how these changes affect neurodevelopmental outcome.
Dr. Radhakrishnan graduated from the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital in India where she also completed a pediatric residency and did her radiology residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Radiology and Pediatric Neuroradiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Indiana University School of Medicine and a pediatric neuroradiologist at Riley Hospital for Children.
