ASPNR Fall Member Mailing 2021 from Laurence Eckel, MD
Dear members and friends of the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR):
I hope this finds you all well. I write with exciting news!
First, as you may know, ASPNR is a vibrant, growing, and successful organization dedicated to our pediatric patients and colleagues. In the last three years, we have nearly doubled society membership and tripled our assets. We have more members-in-training than ever before. The organization underwent a comprehensive restructuring to foster greater member engagement and pride. Our educational outreach has never been more extensive, nor attendance and participation better. And our annual meeting in January – coming up in Miami – is quickly becoming one of the “must go” events of the year for interested practitioners. All is very well, thanks to you and your support!
Second, after many months of effort, ASPNR has officially transitioned to a 501(c)3 entity – which is excellent news. We are now able to accept contributions that qualify as tax deductible to most donors. A big win for both the ASPNR and our supporters!
And finally, effective immediately, we are initiating an endowment for research, named for our founders – Drs. Barkovich, Naidich, and Harwood-Nash – appropriately named the “BNH Founder’s Fund”. As support of pediatric neuroradiology research is a core priority for the society, this fund is designed to support research in pediatric neuroradiology in perpetuity. With increasing visibility of ASPNR and a new tax advantaged donor program, we believe we can eventually grow this fund to one million dollars. An audacious goal, on which we start now!
All contributions received in 2021 will qualify for a matching grant! The first $20,000 in donations in 2021 will be met with 1:1 match, so please contribute today to meet our goal of raising $40,000 this year!
