Gene Therapy Study Group
<< Back to 2024 Meeting Agenda
Join us for the kickoff meeting of our newly launched study group! Following several presentations of current research in gene therapies, we shall strategize ways to develop collaborative projects in order to advance the role of imaging in this exciting emerging field.
The goal of this study group is to advance the role of imaging in the emerging field of genetic therapies for pediatric neurologic disorders. Objectives include:
- Develop recommendations for appropriate, consistent imaging biomarkers
- Expand collaborative imaging databases in the natural history of disease evolution, to serve as a comparison with treatment outcomes
- Investigate the factors contributing to variable imaging presentations of specific genetic disorders despite their common metabolic pathways.
- Identify novel imaging phenotypes that may arise secondary to gene therapies
- Establish appropriate imaging strategies to guide delivery routes
- Advance research led by Pediatric Neuroradiologists
