ASPNR: What attracted you to pediatric neuroradiology?
Claudia Martinez-Rios: Working with children! I really like neuroradiology, which is a very diverse and challenging profession. Also, I think pediatric neuroradiologists are very cool and smart doctors. We take our job very seriously, but when we see our patients we lose the seriousness to help the kids feel more comfortable. I am very happy and excited to be part of this community.

ASPNR: Do you have a colleague or mentor that inspired you in your career?
CMR: I have a long list! But I would say Dr. Alan Daneman, Dr. George Taylor, Mei-Mei Chow, Dr. Charles Raybaud and Dr. Susan Blaser have inspired me the most!

ASPNR: What is your favorite part of your job?
CMR: I love our working environment! The staff in a Children’s Hospital is amazing and shares a similar attitude towards kids, always trying to make them feel better, with lots of respect, empathy and love.

ASPNR: What is the biggest challenge of your job?
CMR: Every day, I realize how much more there is to learn or how little I know!! My job keeps me busy learning new stuff!

ASPNR: What is the most interesting project you are working on right now?
CMR: Cranial ultrasonographic characteristics in extremely low gestational age infants.

ASPNR: Name a helpful online resource that your colleagues may not be aware of
