Dr. Carolina Guimaraes appointed Division Chief of Pediatric Radiology at Chapel Hill, N.C.

Dr. Carolina Guimaraes, one of our valued ASPNR members and contributors, has been appointed Division Chief of Pediatric Radiology at Chapel Hill, N.C. UNC Health! Currently, Carolina is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University School of Medicine. She will be joined in Chapel Hill by her husband Dr. Lane Donnelly, who has been appointed UNC School of Medicine Executive Medical Director of Pediatric Population Health and Quality for UNC Health and Director of UNC Children’s Quality.
Carolina completed her medical degree at the Universidade de Caxias do Sul, Brazil, followed by Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Hospital Mae de Deus in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and fellowships in Pediatric Radiology Research, Pediatric Radiology, and Pediatric Neuroradiology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Carolina’s research interests are focused on pediatric neuroradiology, as well as fetal and neonatal imaging. She is an active member of the ASPNR’s Fundraising, Headline News and Updates, and Case of the Month committees.
