Dr. Vaughn has been at Phoenix Children’s since 2019 and maintains academic appointments at Mayo Clinic, the University of Arizona, Creighton University, and the Barrow Neurological Institute.

Dr. Vaughn attended Wake Forest School of Medicine where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. She later completed residency as well as a fellowship in neuroradiology at New York University followed by an additional fellowship in pediatric neuroradiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. Prior to Phoenix Children’s, Dr. Vaughn worked at Boston Children’s Hospital with additional appointments at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts from 2015 to 2019.

The ESNR-ASPNR Joint Pediatric Neuroradiology Session recently took place at ESNR’s 2022 Annual Meeting in the beautiful historic city of Lisbon, Portugal – and it was a big success! Conference-goers convened in the Lisbon Congress Center along Lisbon’s sunny Tagus’ River shorefront, in full view of the iconic Tagus River Bridge. Neuroradiologists from around the world gathered in-person and for 3.5 days of dedicated neuroradiology programming. This year, the joint ESNR-ASPNR Pediatric Neuroradiology Session was dedicated to Pediatric Vascular Disease. The ASPNR was proudly represented by Dr. Manu Shroff of Sick Kids, Toronto, Canada, who kicked off the session on the topic of Pediatric Ischemic Stroke and ASPNR President Dr. V. Michelle Silvera, from the Mayo Clinic, MN, who spoke on Spinal Cord Stroke in Children.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Sumit Pruthi, Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, in his new appointment as Chief of Pediatric Radiology and Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Nashville, TN.! Dr. Pruthi rises to this position having served as Chief of Pediatric Neuroradiology and Director of the Pediatric Radiology Fellowship Training Program at Monroe Children’s. He also established the VUMC 3D Printing Center at Vanderbilt. Dr. Pruthi will continue as Pediatric Neuroradiology Section Chief while taking on his new leadership role.

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the untimely passing of Dr. Zoltan Patay. Many of you knew Zoltan from his outstanding work in the field of pediatric neuroradiology. Zoltan’s legacy is his considerable scientific, clinical, and educational contributions that furthered our understanding of pediatric neuro-oncology and metabolic conditions of the CNS in children. Some of you had the privilege to work with Zoltan directly and you, and many more, knew him as a kind, enthusiastic, intellectually curious, world citizen with a quick smile, a helping hand, and a zest for life.
